Brow lift

Browlift

A browlift is a surgical procedure that can be used to lift and reposition the brow (and therefore the position of your eyebrows). It can be used to reduce the appearance of drooping eyebrows, and it can also be used to open up the eyes and make them appear more youthful. In extreme cases of severe brow droop, it can also significantly improve vision.

Who is a good candidate for browlift?

Browlift is a good option for people who are unhappy with the appearance of their brow, or who have a drooping brow that is causing them to look tired, sad or in some cases angry. It is also a good option for people who have had a previous browlift that they are not happy with.

What are the risks of browlift?

All surgery carries some risks, including:

  • Bleeding
  • Infection
  • Numbness or tingling in the forehead or eyebrows
  • Scarring

What happens during a browlift?

Browlift is usually performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. A number of techniques have been described including direct, indirect, endoscopic and gliding browlift to name a few. Mr Jabir will choose the technique most appropriate to your situation in discussion with you during your consultation, but in general, it involves making incisions in the hairline or behind the eyebrows, and then lifting and repositioning the tissue in the brow area. The incisions will then be stitched closed.

How long does browlift take?

Browlift typically takes 1-2 hours. You can go home the same day.

What is the recovery time for browlift?

The recovery time for browlift is typically around 2 weeks. You will also need to avoid strenuous activity for at least 2 weeks.

What are the results of browlift?

A browlift usually produces a subtle yet dramatic result giving you a more youthful and refreshed appearance. However, it is important to remember that no surgery is perfect.

Here are some additional tips for patients considering browlift:

  • Be realistic about your expectations. Browlift cannot completely change the appearance of your brow.
  • Choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in browlift.
  • Ask your surgeon about their aftercare plan.
  • Be prepared for a  recovery period that maybe longer than 2 weeks.
  • Be patient with your results. It can take up to a year to appreciate the results of surgery.

Here are some frequently asked questions about browlift:

  • What is the difference between browlift and forehead lift? Browlift is a procedure that lifts the eyebrows, while forehead lift is a procedure that lifts the entire forehead. Browlift is a good option for people who only want to lift their eyebrows, while forehead lift is a good option for people who want to lift their entire forehead.
