Dr. Shehab Jabir
London Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Dr. Shehab Jabir is a triple board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and hand and wrist surgery. Having had a deep interest in plastic surgery while at medical school, he received his medical degree from St George’s University of London in 2011. He then undertook a 2-year foundation programme with a rotation in academic plastic surgery at the world-renowned St. Andrews Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Chelmsford. During this time, he published extensively and won several coveted national awards in Plastic surgery including the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) Hackett memorial prize for best aesthetic surgery paper and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons – Reconstructive Surgical Trials Network (BAPRAS-RSTN) prize for best clinical trial proposal.
Mr Jabir then completed further specialist training within a GMC-recognised specialist plastic surgery training program at several institutions including St. Andrews Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Foundation Trust and University of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. During training, he continued to publish extensively and win local, national and international awards for his research. He has also co-authored and contributed several book chapters on plastic and reconstructive surgery that have been published in well-known manuals in plastic surgery.
In 2021, he completed his training in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery and went on to undertake specialist fellowship training in hand and wrist surgery at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. Following this he undertook a specialist fellowship in aesthetic surgery at Purity Bridge, Tunbridge Wells under the tutelage of Mr Marc Pacifico and Miss Nora Nugent who are the current president and vice president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) respectively.
Mr Jabir is one of a handful of plastic surgeons in the UK having completed three board certifications. He has completed UK (FRCS Plast) and European plastic surgery certifications (FEBOPRAS) as well as being board certified in hand and wrist surgery (FESSHDip).
Mr Jabir is on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery and has over 10 years of experience in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He is a member of several professional organisations including The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), The British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and UK Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (UKAAPS-CAPSCO).
